Master List - Chronological

I have listed the works in sort of an adjusted chronological order.  Adjustments are as follows:

1.  The works are grouped by author.  Doing every single book in order was simply too daunting.

2.  The works are listed in the order in which they were originally published.  In a number of instances, the Collection contains a later edition - in these cases the original publication date governs.

3.  There are a handful of works, things like "Journals of..." [i.e. Lewis and Clark, William Brewer, JW Audobon, etc.] that were published some years (sometimes many years) after the events reflected in the book.  In those cases, I've chosen to use the dates when the actual events depicted took place, not when the work was published.

4.  The date of the first book published by each author in the Collection governs the chronology, except for a handful of authors with truly seminal works where I've used the date of those works, even though there are prior publications by that author in the Collection.  Examples include Thoreau, Aldo Leopold, Rachel Carson and David Quammen.  In such instances, the governing work is indicated with an asterisk.

5.  Generally, all works are first edition/first printing unless otherwise noted.

6.  The extensive John Burroughs Collection, which spans 60+ years, somewhat arbitrarily is listed below at 1890.  Works by and related to John Muir immediately follow.

7.  For works in the separate Master List and Catalogue for Anthologies, Guidebooks, Government Publications and Reference books, that category is listed in brackets.

8.  I have not provided cross-references in the Chronological list - the other Master Lists have extensive cross-references.
